In the Beginning, THE WORD

The first few verses will be a little hard to understand, but the explanation comes soon, in verse
最初の数節はちょっと理解しにくいでしょう。でも１４節に説明が書かれています。
Two hints before you start:

1. The word is Jesus
2. The John mentioned here is not the John who wrote this book.  He is John the Baptist.
始める前に二つのヒント出します。
１。言葉はイエスです。
２。６節に登場するヨハネは、この福音書を書いたヨハネではありません。このヨハネはバプテスマのヨハネです。
Before we study this passage, let's pray:

Father in Heaven, please open our eyes and hearts to your truth.  Lead us closer to you. In Jesus' name.
この箇所を読む前にお祈りします。天におられる父なる神様、
あなたの真実に私たちの目と心を開いてください。私たちをあなたの御元近くに導いてください。イエスの名前によってお祈りします。



Now, let's read verses 1-14.
さあ、１節〜１４節を読みましょう。

v. 1-5 summary
In the beginning was The Word.
The Word was with God.
The Word was God.
The Word was creating
In the Word was Light.
This light was the light of life.

１説ー５説のまとめ
初めに言葉があった。
この言葉は神とともにあった。
言葉は万物を造っていた。
言葉に光があった。
この光は人のいのちでした。

What does this mean?
これは何の意味でしょうか？

The eternal Creator God was Jesus.
The Earth-walking man from Nazareth was Jesus.
They are one and the same person, and he came to give us
LIFE!
とこしえからとこしえまで存在する、
万物を創造される神様がイエスです。
この汚れた地面を歩いていた、ナザレ人こそイエスです。


この創造主とナザレ人は同じです。

彼が地球に来たのは私たち人間にいのちを与える
ためです。

Look ahead to verse 14.
The Word here is Jesus. He gave up his position
 of glory and splendor in Heaven at God's side.  
He chose to take on flesh and live as a man.

少し飛んで１４
節を見てください。
ここで、言葉というのは明らかにイエス
です。イエスは天国で父の神様
のそばの栄光と光輝を捨てられました。受肉され、人間の生活を送ることを選択しました。
受肉というのは、神様が人間の体をとって地上におりられる
ことです。
